WE'RE NOT GONNA TAKE IT
|
"Culinary Point-of-View" - I admit I watch a lot of 'reality television' and food related television. These two genres combined have formed a phrase I have grown to hate. "...-licious" - Blayne needs to shut up.Labels: funny rant |

I'M IN A HURRY TO GET THINGS DONE
|
Be warned! This is not a food friendly post. You've been warned. I fully admit that of all the rooms in my apartment, I hate cleaning the bathroom the most. I clean it when it needs it, but overall... it'll be the last room that gest cleaned. So I'm not really one to complain about how 'kept' a bathroom is. Yet in some bathrooms I will bitch. Why? Because in public bathrooms there are certain things that are just... bizarre. For example... would you wipe boogers on the stall wall? Because sure... Nose picking in the bathroom I'm not one to balk at. But wiping them on the wall? (Hee... I said "butt wiping".)
Speaking of butt wiping. What possesses a person to crap on the toilet seat? Like towards the front of the u-shaped seat. Think about the logistics for a second. What type of manuver is someone pulling that poo gets smeared towards the front. And this is in addition to several other 'leavings...' Am I a prude about this? Gosh no. Like I said, my bathroom isn't the cleanest. When only guys uses a bathroom, hair ends up in places. Clogs happen. Midnight pee-breaks result in missage. Fine. What I find amusing is that even with a cleaning crew this stuff remains. Even if I was cleaning the public bathrooms myself, I'd question what makes someone want to revert to childhood days and do these things.Labels: funny rant |

COFFEE & TV
|
For years, while others have nurtured their coffee craving desires, I've been content to sit on the sidelines placidly. Perfectly happy with my teas and sodas. If I wanted a caffeine boost I turned to Coke or Dr Pepper. If I wanted something warm, there was always hot tea. Only occasionally dabbling in the dark roasted arts, I drank very few concoctions procured from baristas.
Many years ago, when I first started working overnights I convinced myself that coffee, like beer, was an acquired taste. A taste that if I was to stay up all night I would need to possesses. I purchased a small coffee maker, a can of Folgers, and the ingredients I thought I'd need to make this cup of hot brown water palatable. I was unable to find any combination of ingredients to make the coffee something I would want everyday. I ended up giving the rest of the coffee away and who knows where the coffee maker really is.
That was then... this is now. Still not a big coffee drinker, I found myself craving a white chocolate mocha. A drink that I've had a handful of times, ever, but that I knew I could at least stomach. Maybe it was the lack of sleep combined with the approaching Thanksgiving holiday. On my way to my familial home I stopped at Starbucks to get one. It was the best coffee I'd ever had. Ever! Which... really isn't saying much given my short engagement with the bean. Since then I've had a white chocolate mocha every few days. I suppose this is how it starts. Like a gateway drug to stronger, more daring drafts, this more-dessert-than-drink beverage has found it's way into my life. Curse you Starbucks... Before you know it, I'll be ordering grande skinny mocha-frappa-dapple-ccinos with room. And small cup of ice, cause... DAMN coffee is hot!

WHAT'S THAT YOU SAY?
|
Just some random things that have been on my mind.
- Work is ok. Waiting for the feeling of "I Have No Clue What Is Going On" to fade. Yet everyone tells me the are honestly impressed and I sound like I've been doing the job for a couple years. I have them all fooled.
- I think dishwasher manufacturers have us all hoodwinked. Washing your dishes before you put them in the dishwasher, where they will be washed? I call shenanigans.
- Yay! Amazing Race is back!
- I love Heroes and Hiro. But is anyone else really giving a rat's ass about Hiro in the past? Feh...
- YAY SPAMALOT this Friday!
- All I want to do is cuddle up on the couch with Mark.
- The only Stephen King story to ever give me nightmares is now a movie. Joy...
- I don't get Criss Angel.
- Better name for a Guitar Hero band... Kneesex or Sexlexia?
- Sometimes I selfishly think it really is about me, when that couldn't be further from the truth. I have to remind myself of that every now and again.
- Hayden Panttierre + Dolphins = Save The Cute Ones. Save The World.Labels: funny rant |

THAT'S NOT MY NAME
|
Every so often I like to take a look at how people found my blog. Sound of the searches I can figure out pretty easily.
For example, I always know when Elektra has been on some channel, but I get a lot of people searching for Kimagori. Without looking I believe it was the name of one of the bad guys. But I think it also has meaning other than that. Sorry I didn't help define it for you.
Steve Poltz, Jeep Ad, "you remind me", "ink blot world"... are all big searches because of a recent Jeep add featuring his song You Remind Me. It's a great song. This one I at least helped with by having a link to a website.
Anything "comical" or a "misadventure" of some kind are big searches for obvious reasons. But every so often I get a unusual search. And I wonder how the fuck did that bring someone to MY homepage.
"What to do with an incorrigible teenager?" - Might I suggest beatings. And lots of 'em! Unfortunately that search too them to the entry where i tried my hand at recapping movies.
"Questioning a suicidal caller." - Wow... well I didn't that for 5 years. But I'm not sure that's something I want to know how to do via the web. Plus, is this someone on the questionER or questionEE side of the call?
"Gay VW commercial music" - I'm not sure... I talk about music from commercials a lot, but gay?
"you're the inspiration dance" - Ok, I know what *I* was talking about when I wrote about this, but not sure what inspiration dance someone else might have been looking for. I hope it doesn't even flapping your arms like a chicken or clench your stomach and/or ass like you have some sort of gastro intestinal issue. Thank you Pepto Bismal for that...
Oh... btw! If you're still getting to this website via www.gotl33t.com/gotcris you might want to update your bookmarks. It's been a couple years now. :PLabels: funny rant |

YOU GIVE ME FEVER
|
So Typhoid Mary has struck again...
I might as well embrace my 'title' as it was given to me. It seems that while I don't get sick (usually) I do make other sick. And it's getting worse.
At first it was just when I'd hang out with my best friend, Mike. He'd start feeling ill a day or so later. Then it happened again... I think three times total, I'd go over to his house some afternoon. Then in a day he'd be coming down with a cold. I was blamed since I worked in a hospital around God only knows what kind of sickos who had ebola, SARS, or even the Hanta virus... How I got it is beyond me.
His wife has experienced this effect as well. Apparently I made her sick one weekend some months ago.
Now, the latest example has made another member of their household ill. This can be explained because I came in contact with all three of them this past weekend at a baby shower.
What worries me is that since I'm no longer working in a hospital... I MUST be the cause. So take me as I am. Germs and all.
Hi. Nice to meet you. I'm Typhoid Mary. I'd shake your hand, but.. well... no...Labels: funny rant |
