At what point are we grown up?
I just turned 30, as did did my best friend, his cousin, and another good friend. Yet, I don't think we seem grown up. Not to say we are immature, but I don't think we seem like the way our parents seem like.
We all still play video games. A night out is still fun. Some of us can still make it past midnight. (Tho anymore I'm tired by 10pm.) We still play with 'toys', tho our toys have matured. Mike's eyes gloss over a little when we walk past the computers.
We find someone. We pair off. We have kids. We have serious jobs. We move. We do things that adults do, yet on some level we are still not adults. Not kids... but not adults either. Maybe I'm just lucky to have a great group of friends who like to get together and have fun and just enjoy each others company. The people I'm friends with I've known for years. Some I've known since we were little kids in elementary school. Some I've known through other people over years.
Perhaps age is just a state of mind. You are only as old as you feel. Maybe we just get better at hiding how young we are. Maybe we get better at avoiding how old we could be.
Here's to another great year!
